Virtual Global Health Internship
Virtual opportunities in Rwanda and Vietnam
GEI and Des Moines University have developed a Virtual Global Health Internship course that offers undergraduate and graduate students the unique opportunity to engage in GEI’s social impact projects in Mental Health, Public Health, and Maternal & Newborn Health at our African and Asian campus locations in Rwanda and Vietnam. You will join a multicultural and multidisciplinary team that carries out concrete project and research tasks. We will develop a personalized internship plan together with you and provide you with both an experienced preceptor and a local cultural coordinator. The internship is further enriched with topical introduction modules that focus on key SDGs and their application in Africa and Asia; interdisciplinary workshops on cultural intelligence; rich local and intercultural activities (including engagement with local student peers); and assignments.

Educational rights & privacy

The privacy of student educational records in educational institutions is very important. In the USA, for example, it is protected by FERPA - the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 as amended. It explicitly limits access to the information contained in those records. If you want us to discuss program-related matters with your Academic Advisor or other individuals at your home institution - and especially if you have selected the option to receive a record of your grades and associated credit above -, you will have to grant us your official authorization for such communication.

I acknowledge to have read the FERPA Disclosure Agreement and consent to its terms.
