New partnership with the University of California, San Francisco
We are proud to announce a new partnership with the Center for Global Health (CGH) at the School of Nursing of the University of California, San Francisco. Its mission is to be the preeminent nursing school advancing healthcare worldwide through research, education and patient care.
Under the leadership of Dr. Mary Foley, we have developed a Global Health Practicum that will focus, first and foremost, on concepts and programs in Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) in Rwanda. The 3-week course will also allow participating students to gain practical experience in developing local capacity at hospital and health center level. The curriculum is based on the WHO recommendations for hospital hygiene and healthcare waste management.
Working hand in hand with Rwandan colleagues, participants obtain valuable professional knowledge, skills and intercultural competence. At the same time, they make a contribution to the development of vital infection prevention and control capacity in Rwanda.
We now invite interested students in nursing and related disciplines to apply for this program. The inaugural program dates are December 11-31, 2016, and the tuition fees are $2,970, not including airfare. More information is available here.
